  • Small Business
Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program (API SBP)

A consortium of five of the longest standing organizations in the Los Angeles Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Its purpose is

to assist small and largely immigrant businesses in Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Tokyo, Thai Town, and Pilipino communities of

Los Angeles.  Business Counselors with multingual and multicultural capabilities work directly with the smallest and most-in-need

entrepreneurs, providing targeted workshops, individualized business counseling, access to capital, and linkages to other public

and  private small business services.

Thai CDC is a Money Smart Alliance Member of FDIC, #0549 .

  • Human Rights Advocacy
Operation Rescue and Restore and Trafficked Victim Family Resettlement Services Program

In the past thirteen years, we have assisted over 350 Thai victims of the most severe form of exploitation and human rights abuse

by providing an immediate response team that arranges shelter, food, clothing, medical care, and legal counsel for the victims.

While we help them overcome their trauma, we develop their survival and self-sufficiency skills and prepare them to seek redress

and restitution through various legal channels.

Due to the real fear of retaliation back in their home country, families of the victims are also reunited with them in the United

States.  The relief, education, counseling and advocacy that Thai CDC provides to each victim require extensive and

comprehensive case management.  Once the family members are reunited with the victim, we must help them resettle

requiring additional case management (such as obtaining social security cards, proper forms of identification, public benefits,

housing, furnishings, personal supplies, and more).

Our ultimate goal is to make survivors of human trafficking whole persons again with the will and self-determination to pursue

justice and to lead an independent and productive life.

            Sweat Equity Project

Assists survivors of human trafficking and help them become economically self-sufficient in the area of micro-enterprise

development.  Survivor Success Story

  • Annual Community Health and Consumer Resource Fair

Called the "Live, Work and Play in East Hollywood", this fair is held every year to increase access to healthcare through free health

screenings and consumer information for low-income residents of East Hollywood.

  • Thai Town Community Development

The objectives of Thai Town development include establishing an ethnic-based community development strategy that could help

people grow small businesses, revitalize dilapidated public infrastructure, and create a sense of place and identity that is

synonymous with the character of the local neighborhood.

  •  Research Projects

We have engaged in extensive research over the years ranging from issues related to health to economic development in order to

document and highlight the pressing issues facing our community.  It is also our intent to use our groundbreaking research as an

advocacy tool for systems change.
